Spammy

We need to quit apologizing for being “spammy”.

Things are only spammy when you don’t want to see them. You could show me 1,000 pictures of dogs and I would never think they were spammy. Seriously, I’m not sure I could ever get sick of seeing doggo pictures.

If you think you are coming across as spammy, it’s because you’re either insecure or you’re targeting the wrong audience.

When you target the right audience, your posts are like a breath of fresh air. You don’t have to apologize, because people LOVE seeing what you have to share. Even something like Wal-Mart coupons, which feel spammy and horrible to me, aren’t to some people. There are many people who are delighted to get Wal-Mart coupons. They wait eagerly to receive them.

If you’re getting a lot of complaints, you need to find different humans to target, because when you are honed in on your audience, you never have to worry about spamming them, because you’ll know what they want to see, and then you can just keep feeding it to them as often as you want.
