What is the one thing you do today to make it a success?
This is a question I ask myself every morning. It’s usually a big thing which will take most of the day, but some days it is quite small.
Asking myself this question allows me to keep focused throughout the day when other things pile on top of my workload.
There are other habits I’ve formed that become little things I do every day, but they are not my one thing. My one thing is the singular item that will help me leap forward the furthest and the quickest.
Most of the time it’s writing 5,000 words a day or editing 20,000 words of a manuscript. However, sometimes it’s recording a course, or making a certain amount of money at a show.
The world will pile onto your day, every single day, and try to pull you away from your to-do list, but having a single action item which I know will bring me forward has allowed me to finish more projects than ever, because every time I am dragged away, my one thing pulls me back to center again.
