If you find somebody that resonates on your frequency of weird, DO NOT assume you will ever see them again, or see them at the next show.
Make and maintain that connection starting now.
Finding those people is magic, and whether they are creators or fans, do not assume you can just “catch them at the next one”.
If this has taught me anything, it’s that there might never be a next one.
If you make a connection with one awesome person a month for the next five years, that’s 60 people. That’s an awesome network of fellow weirdos. If you can do it once a week, you’ve got over 200. Once a day for five years, and that’s over 1800 people.
Five years may seem like forever, but it’s the blink of an eye in a career. It really is.
I am very blessed to have found so many people who resonate with my frequency, but I have also done the hard work of connecting with them, maintaining that connection, and cultivating it.
Do not take it for granted.
