That is a picture of my stock before my first show on May 31st, 2014.
For those who think you can’t do it, I was green once, too. I only had 25 copies of each book with me at the time. I split the $125 with a friend of mine.
We were facing a wall and had to make signs so people would find us. That’s all I had six years ago. I hadn’t even run the Kickstarter campaign yet.
We sold out of every one of those copies, and I FLIPPED OUT!
There is no way from this picture you would be able to know what Wannabe Press, or I, would become. I’ve become a six-figure creative entrepreneur, a USA Today bestselling author, spoken on stages across the country, interviewed my idols, made over $170,000 on Kickstarter, and so much more since this picture was taken, but back then, I wasn’t any of those things.
Six years is an eternity. A year after this, almost to the day, I would get a palette of the collector edition Ichabod books, quit my job, and the rest is history.
